About Harry Edelman

I help leaders and business owners turn strategy into results. Over decades, I’ve led growth, built global partnerships, and connected the technical side of a business with the commercial side.

Where I’ve worked
Much of my career was at Heyl & Patterson Inc., a Pittsburgh-based global supplier of custom-engineered capital equipment. I held several leadership roles there: Director of Marketing, Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President, COO of an affiliated company, and Board member. I brought engineering, project management, marketing, sales, estimating, and purchasing together into one aligned team.

Building markets
I led the shift of marketing from a support function to a strategic engine for growth. That included strategic planning, branding, digital marketing, trade shows, and voice-of-the-customer research. I also opened new global markets and negotiated licensing agreements in India, South Africa, and other regions, and I have spoken at industry conferences in India.

Coaching and mentoring
Coaching has always been central to my work. Through Harry Edelman Associates LLC, I advise executives and business owners on leadership development, strategic marketing, and international growth. I have mentored with the Entrepreneurial Fellows Program at the University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence and worked with MBA students at the Katz School of Business on board-level strategy.

Leadership with PowerLink
As Regional Director and Chair of Community Advisory Boards at PowerLink, I’ve guided more than 40 companies through growth planning, operational improvement, and leadership development. I also support more than 100 CEOs in peer circles focused on scaling revenue, building recurring revenue, and setting measurable goals.
