Many people have a favorite a dog or a cat. It seems you are ether a dog person or a cat person. Rarely have I found you are both a dog person and a cat person.
So what is the difference in my humble unscientific opinion. Cat people are comfortable with themselves and do not need compliments. They get home and are glad they have arrived. Dog people seem to want confirmation that what they do is noticed and gets recognized especially in their own personal space.
This is just my observation, yet let me explain. When you come home cats look up and may acknowledge you are home and maybe not. While dogs are so excited they act like you are the greatest human ever and they are so glad you are finally home. Dogs lavish you with attention and expect you to give them some in return. Cats on the other hand could care less. Feed them and they will allow you to pet them.
So if you want to come home and get a wonderful welcome get a dog and if you personally are comfortable just being home consider a cat.
How does this apply in the workplace you may ask. If you are looking for an independent person who can work on their own consider a cat person. If you are looking for a person who needs attention and feedback consider a dog person.
This theory is based on my own observations and I would value your feedback and comments.
